Wildwood, WA is where my family settled during the 1890's. One of the many resources they had on the land was the gravel bar. This picture is from sometime in the 1920's with Fred, Charles, Ed, Herman and one unknown.
From the stories I remember my Grandmother sharing with me I am pretty sure that the gravel loaded from this conveyor was then used to help build the county roads. So whenever someone drives down many of the roads in Lewis County there is a good likely hood that under all the layers that have been added over the years gravel loaded from these men would be found. |
